Saturday

Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay

We spent the next couple of days taking it easy... we spent some time at Staunton's, at the pier that we can see from our rental, and just driving and walking around locally. Friday we slept in, made some breakfast at the house, and had sandwiches and soup in the evening at Staunton's. And Saturday was our anniversary, one of them anyway, the Summer Solstice, which we spent having a leisurely breakfast in nearby Louisburgh, having coffee and ice cream, and photographing beached jellyfish, at the Louisburgh Heads.

On the way down to the pier...

While watching the sailboats, we chatted with a man from England who sells Christmas Trees, and then takes the summers off to sail and travel. This is his boat... no kidding! It's a military surplus craft, ugly and plain as sin, unlike it's handsome and interesting owner.

Our house from the pier

Today was our anniversary, or one of them anyway... so we topped off the day with a nice dinner at The Tavern in nearby Murrisk. We got married on the winter solstice, and had the reception on the summer solstice. After a 25 year courtship, we have some celebrating to catch up on!

To the sky, my love!   I'd do it all again.
